Milwaukee Brewing | Booyah | 6.5% ABV
Saison
Pour it slow, there’s lots of carbonation. Everything a saison/farmhouse ale is expected to be: peppery, dry. Was hoping for some more funk since this is pretty affordable for the style.
Rating: 6/10
Price: $9.99/6pack

Brewery Ommegang | Hennepin | 7.7% ABV
Saison
I stole this from a BBQ I was at over the weekend. I always liked three philosophers and have been wanting to give this a shot but didn’t want to pay for it. The saison is not my cup of tea but good beer is good beer. At first, this is a very delicious fruity saison. Dry. It then has this very mediciney after taste. It’s kinda goofy. I don’t know.

Stone Brewing | Saison du Buff | 6.8% ABV
Saison
BOOM! The third offering of Saison du Buff! This one’s spice flavor is way more pronounced than the previous two. This is pretty good. If I had to rank them I would go 1. DFH 2. Stone 3. Victory. Tell me what you think!!
Price: $2.99/12oz
Rating: 7/10
I wanted to re-post my review of the DFH review before I post some thing on the Victory release. That way we can compare together. I’m still looking for a Stone version.
Dogfish Head/Stone/Victory | Saison Du Buff | 6.8% ABV
Saison
This beer is a collaboration between Dogfish Head, Stone, and Victory. It’s a Saison brewed with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Yes, like the facking Simon & Garfunkel album. Despite my unintentional hatred for the saison, I really like this one. I’m not really familiar with the taste of these spices, but combined it makes for a very delicious and refreshing beer. I’ll make sure there’s a four pack of this at my next BBQ. Go get this one. Stone and Victory will be releasing a bottle in April and May as well. I’ll be trying those too!

Victory Brewing/Stone Brewing/Dogfish Head Brewery | Saison Du Buff | 6.8% ABV

ROUND 2! This has more of a bitter swing to it. It’s been a while since I had the DFH release but I remember their’s being sweeter. I unno. I’m not a fan of saisons and this is pretty typical. I could do without it.
Price: I bought this one 12oz bottle for $2.59

ROUND 2 OF THREE FLOYDS DAY!
Three Floyds Brewing | Rabid Rabbit | 7.4 % ABV
Saison/Farmhouse Ale
Ahhhh saisons….my beer nemesis. Even now as I watch my cat try to reach it’s asshole to clean it, I wonder…”will there ever be a saison that I like?” Well, if anyone can do it, Three Floyds can. Smells like a saison. Looks like a saison….of course it tastes unlike any other saison I’ve ever had. It very dry and bitter. The rabit is bottle conditioned so that might be what is muting the flavor for me. I may get another one and age it. See how it ends up. If you’re into saisons, give a shot and let me know what you think. I don’t get it.

Jolly Pumpkin | Bam Noire | 4.5 % ABV
Saison - Dark Farmhouse Ale
As you can see from the picture, this beer pours with a lot of head. Bam Noire is a bottle conditioned ale. The extra yeast is what causes all the foam and allows the beer to change over time. This was bottled in August of 2011 so it’s had some time to age. It’s very refreshing and muted. Almost dry tasting. I can taste raison, coffee, and it fades with a faint chocolate taste. I’m not really a big fan of saison’s but this is pretty good. A refreshing summer beer. A freiend recomeneded this brewery to me. I’m going to give try some more of their beers in the future. They put out 750ml bombers, which I prefer to the 650ml.
